Often deemed antisocial, they have been unfairly labeled with a reputation that Florkiewicz and Scott sought to challenge through their research. Undertaking their study at the CatCafé Lounge in Los Angeles, the researchers recorded and analyzed the interactions of approximately 50 domesticated housecats over the span of a year. The results revealed that 45% of the expressions conveyed friendliness, 37% were indicative of aggression, and the remaining 18% fell into a spectrum between the two extremes.
